CALL TO ORDER: Board Chairman Charles Miller called the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Hermiston Irrigation District to order at 6:12 p.m. in the Hermiston Irrigation District shop building. Also present at the meeting were Board Members Mike Bergstrom, Len Jeppeson and Craig Coleman; District Manager, Chuck Wilcox; Field Manager, Jeff Eicher; Recording Secretary, Annette Rambel, guest speaker, Barry Norris with OWRD; HID’s office staff; 4 members of the HID field crew and approximately 65 patrons and guests.

DINNER: The meeting began with a Steak & Beans Bar-B-Q Dinner that was prepared and served by Mel and Jerrie Keely with the FFA alumni.

INTRODUCTIONS: Chairman Miller introduced the Board members and Managers. Manger Wilcox introduced the office staff. Field Manager Eicher introduced the members of the field crew that were present.

RECOGNITIONS: Manager Wilcox presented Customer Service Representative, Dawn Henderson with a gift for her 10 years of service to the District.

INTEGRATED WATER SUPPLY STRATEGY: Barry Norris with OWRD gave a presentation about the State’s Integrated Water Supply Strategy. The 2009 Legislative Assembly passed House Bill 3369. This bill directs OWRD to develop a state-wide, integrated water resources strategy to help Oregon meet its future water needs in terms of water quantity, quality and ecosystem functions.

This bill further clarifies that OWRD will work in close cooperation with ODF&W, DEQ and ODA to design a strategy to meet Oregon’s in-stream and out-of-stream water needs. The bill requires the Strategy to include objectives as well as actions to meet these objectives and finally public policy options and recommendations.

MAINTENANCE REPORT: Field Manger Eicher informed the patrons that the crew has prepared the Feed Canal and that they are busy working on the I-Line project. He requested that maintenance issues be reported as soon as possible to give him time to schedule the work.

WATER REPORT: Manager Wilcox gave report on the current water situation.

ADJOURNMENT: Chairman Miller adjourned the Annual Meeting at approximately 7:50 pm.
